Nikita is a partner in the Saskatoon office with a practice focused on aboriginal law.
Nikita assists First Nations clients with a variety of litigation matters in Federal Court, including election appeals, applications for judicial review of Band Council decisions, and rights-based claims. She also assists clients with governance and corporate matters, including reviewing existing laws and drafting new laws, and providing advice to First Nations’ economic development corporations and businesses on corporate structure, governance, and contract negotiation.
Nikita also maintains a general litigation practice, with a focus on insurance law. Nikita has experience at the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench, Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, Court of Appeal for Ontario, and various administrative tribunals.
Nikita obtained her Juris Doctor in 2014 from Osgoode Hall Law School. She was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2015 and practiced as Crown counsel at Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General, Crown Law Office – Civil until she joined McKercher LLP in 2019. Nikita was invited to join the partnership in 2022.
