Spotlight on Community: YWCA Saskatoon, a McKercher LLP 2026 Community Fund Recipient
October 21, 2026
2026 McKercher LLP Community Fund recipient, YWCA Saskatoon, provides a safe and stable space where women and their children can access essential resources and support as they rebuild their lives. Funding from the firm will help enhance the children's play area within the organization's Crisis Shelter.
This project will create a welcoming, child-centered environment where children can simply be children while living in shelter, and where learning, healing, and healthy play can take place. The funding will be used to replace worn, outdated, unhygienic and unsafe items in a space that is used daily by children experiencing significant stress and transition.
To ensure the play area remains safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate, updates will include durable, easy-to-clean furniture, high-quality toys and books designed to withstand frequent use, and a dedicated parent resource section to help caregivers support their children's wellbeing.
McKercher LLP thanks YWCA Saskatoon for the important work they do to support women and families in our community. We are proud to contribute to the enhancement of this important space and know it will have a lasting impact on the families who use it.
