Kate is a partner in the Saskatoon office.
Kate is a lawyer in the Saskatoon office and practices exclusively in the area of family law, including assisting clients with division of family property, child and spousal support, parenting matters and divorce. Kate completed her Bachelor of Business Administration at Simon Fraser University in 2005. She attended the University of Saskatchewan and received her Bachelor of Laws in 2009. Kate joined McKercher LLP in 2020 as a senior associate in the Family Law group. She joined the partnership in 2023.
Kate has successfully appeared as counsel in all levels of court in Saskatchewan including Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal. Although Kate has extensive litigation experience, she is also focused on assisting clients in reaching out-of-court settlements, including through the negotiation and preparation of prenuptial, cohabitation and separation agreements.
Kate has been involved in the Saskatoon legal community by volunteering with CLASSIC (Community Legal Assistance Services for Saskatoon Inner City Inc.) as well as with the Canadian Bar Association – Saskatchewan Branch by being a member of the editorial board of its member publication, BarNotes. For her contributions in the community, she was nominated for the Pro Bono Service Award in 2012.
