John is an associate in the Saskatoon office. 

He joined McKercher LLP as an articling student in 2020 and was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2021. 

 John was born and raised in rural Saskatchewan in the small farming community of Turtleford. He earned his Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a major in Business Economics and Law at the University of Alberta. While completing his commerce degree, John built a career in the land development and construction industry with which he would remain a part of for eight years. 

Wanting to pursue a career in law and return home to the province of Saskatchewan, John attended the College of Law at the University of Saskatchewan from 2017 to 2020 where he obtained his Juris Doctor. During John’s time in law school he represented the College at the 2019 Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot in Toronto, where he and his teammates competed against 16 law schools from across Canada. Upon graduation in 2020, John received the Ron Cuming Prize in Commercial Law which is awarded to the student with the highest cumulative average in commercial and corporate law courses. 

Outside the office, John enjoys the outdoors, hobby farming and remaining connected with his community in both his hometown and Saskatoon
