Jared is an associate in the McKercher LLP Saskatoon office, practicing primarily with the Indigenous Law Practice Group.
His practice is focused on Corporate and Commercial Law, Real Estate, and First Nations and Indigenous legal issues including matters relating to First Nations governance, self-government, negotiation, development, and a variety of issues impacting Indigenous peoples and communities.
Jared is a member of the Mistawasis Néhiyawak First Nation. He was raised in Saskatoon where he attended the University of Saskatchewan, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (with Honours) in 2015 and his Juris Doctor in 2016. Jared was admitted to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2017, practiced with another major Saskatchewan law firm and joined a boutique law firm before joining McKercher in 2022.
While in University, Jared served as the President of the Indigenous Students’ Council, held positions with the Indigenous Law Students’ Association, and was elected President of the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union. While studying law, he participated in the Kawaskimhon Moot and volunteered and worked with CLASSIC Inc. In his personal time, Jared enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, gaming, and is an avid hockey fan.
