David is a partner in the firm’s Regina office with a practice which focuses on corporate and commercial law, including small business.

David has experience in almost all areas of corporate and commercial law but a significant area of his practice involves representing developers and home builders in Regina and Saskatoon. Throughout his career, David has had experience in almost all areas of the law, including civil litigation, criminal law, and estates. David was born and raised in Kamsack.

Active with many community groups and organizations, David is a strong supporter of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, serving on the Plaza of Honour Dinner Committee from 1997 to 2016 (2011 Dinner Chair). In August 2010, David was appointed by the Federal Government to the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy.

David was a member of the SaskEnergy/TransGas Board of Directors from 2008-2018, and served on many Board committees. 

He has served for many years as a Director and Legal Advisor of the Royal Life Saving Society of Canada, Saskatchewan Branch, including two terms as a Director of the Royal Lifesaving Society of Canada, National Branch. In 2023, he was appointed as a Governor of the Lifesaving Society, Saskatchewan Branch. 

David is a past Bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan. He was honoured with a King’s Counsel appointment in 2021. 

In 2023, David was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal for his contributions to the province of Saskatchewan. 

Currently, David chairs McKercher LLP’s Real Estate Practice Group.
