Those values inspired our recent donation of retired technology equipment to Computers for Success Saskatchewan (CFS-SK), a provincial organization that refurbishes and redistributes devices to charities, schools, non-profit organizations, newcomers to Canada, and eligible low-income individuals across Saskatchewan.

The donation benefits communities across the province and supports environmental sustainability by extending the life of usable technology and reducing electronic waste. Through its refurbishment and recycling efforts, CFS-SK helps ensure technology remains accessible while keeping devices out of landfills whenever possible.

 Turning Used Technology into Opportunity

Founded as part of a national program established in 1993, CFS-SK has been helping bridge the digital divide in Saskatchewan for more than three decades. Since its inception, the organization has distributed approximately 120,000 devices throughout the province, helping individuals access education, employment opportunities, essential services, and meaningful connections with others.

In March 2026, CFS-SK lost federal funding support. At the same time, technology donations from government sources declined in some regions, increasing the importance of support from businesses, organizations, and community members.

Last year alone, CFS-SK distributed more than 8,000 devices across Saskatchewan. This year, the organization is on track to provide nearly 6,000 devices to individuals and organizations in need.

How Other Saskatchewan Businesses Can Help

Businesses and individuals can donate computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets, monitors, and related technology equipment. All donated devices undergo secure data wiping before refurbishment, allowing organizations to donate with confidence. Equipment that cannot be reused is responsibly dismantled and recycled.

Financial contributions are also welcome and help cover the costs associated with refurbishing devices and preparing them for distribution.
