Katie maintains a general civil litigation practice with a primary focus on insurance defence and health law. She has appeared before administrative tribunals, the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan and the Court of King’s Bench for Saskatchewan. As part of her practice, Katie has a particular focus in privacy law, advising clients from a broad range of industries on information privacy, access to information, data sharing, privacy law interpretation and compliance.
Prior to joining McKercher LLP, Katie was an associate at another Western Canadian law firm, practicing primarily in the areas of civil litigation, privacy and cybersecurity.
Before attending law school, Katie earned a Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance from McGill University and was an active orchestral and chamber musician in both Montreal and her hometown of Regina. During her legal studies, Katie competed on the Gale Cup Moot Team and the International Academy of Dispute Resolution Mediation Moot Team and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada.
