Joshwa J. Howie

Joshwa became a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan in 2020 after articling with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice and Crown Investments Corporation. Before joining McKercher LLP in June 2023, he worked at a large Western Canadian law firm where he gained extensive experience in corporate law. Today, Joshwa continues to assist clients in all areas related to corporate/commercial law, with a specific focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, corporate governance, and reorganizations.

Joshwa also practices in entertainment law and is the firm’s key contact for this area. He has a certificate in entertainment law from Osgoode Hall Law School and regularly works with industry participants at the local, national, and international level, including producers, distributors, financial institutions, investors, and artists. Among other things, Joshwa provides legal advice regarding copyright and trademarks, corporate structure, production finance, insurance, and taxation.
