Alexandra (Barlas) Laidlaw

Alexandra is an associate in the Saskatoon office, practicing as a solicitor and focusing in the areas of real estate, leasing, estate planning and administration. She joined McKercher LLP as an articling student in 2019 and was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 2020.

Born and raised in Saskatoon, Alexandra earned her combined Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Saskatchewan. She maintained her ties to the Saskatoon community throughout her studies, volunteering for the Royal University Hospital Foundation, Greek community, and the CLASSIC Legal Advice Clinic.

Out of the office, Alexandra enjoys performing arts. During university, she provided Greek musical and dance entertainment at the Royal University Hospital Foundation’s Annual Greek Gourmet Feast, and she also participated as a lead singer in the College of Law’s band, The Dissent. When she’s not busy working as a lawyer at McKercher, Alexandra helps support her family’s locally-owned restaurant, Filosophi Wise Cuisine.
