Darcia officially retired from the firm as of December 31, 2023. The firm thanks her for her unwavering service to clients and wishes her all the best in the next chapter of her life!

Darcia practices extensively in the area of professional regulation as she represents a number of self governing professional organizations in Saskatchewan. She has an extensive practice in child protection, representing the Ministry of Social Services and a Tribal Council child and family services agency in proceedings under The Child and Family Services Act.

 

Darcia is and has been an active member of the profession and the community. She has been a presenter and organizer for continuing legal education conferences and seminars for lawyers and other professionals. From 2009 to 2014, Darcia was a bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, serving on and leading many committees including Justicia which is an initiative to retain women in the practice of law. Darcia continues to assist the Law Society as designate complaints counsel and as an ad hoc member of hearing committees.

 

Darcia was honoured in 2016 by being appointed Honorary Consul by the Embassy of Sweden in Regina, with jurisdiction over the Province of Saskatchewan. In 2022, Darcia was honoured by receiving the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal (Saskatchewan), recognizing her contributions to our country, our province, and our communities.

 

Outside of the office, Darcia enjoys running, international travel, cooking school, golf and tennis.

 

Darcia was recently selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers™ in Canada 2024 in the field of Administrative & Public Law for Regina. She has been listed in Best Lawyers® since 2023.
