SHEILA E. CASTON

Sheila's experience in civil litigation spans the course of 12 years.  She joined the Firm in 1999, and has focused her practice in the areas of Insurance Law, Health Law, and Family Law.

As a member of the Firm’s Insurance Law and Health Law practice groups, she has handled claims related to personal injury, property damage, coverage, and professional licensing and discipline.  As a member of the Firm’s Family Law practice group, she has experience in child custody/access disputes and child and spousal support claims as well as divorce and property division.  In all areas of her practice, Sheila believes very strongly in alternative dispute resolution which results in satisfactory settlements as an alternative to the Courts and adversarial litigation.

Sheila received her Bachelor of Administration from the University of Regina in 1993, her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 1996, and articled in the corporate legal department at SaskPower following law school.

Sheila has appeared before the Saskatchewan Court of Queen’s Bench and Court of Appeal as well as various administrative tribunals.  She has prepared applications and written materials for consideration by both the Supreme and Federal Courts of Canada.

She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) and has published articles for the Saskatchewan Trial Lawyers Association and Canadian Bar Notes.  She has presented seminars for Saskatchewan Legal Education Society (SKLESI) as well as mock trials at the University of Saskatchewan.

Sheila is married and, in her spare time, enjoys spending time with her husband and children.
