Patricia J. F. Warsaba, QC
Patricia is a partner in the Regina office with experience in advising on corporate governance matters, securities and equity financing, commercial and residential real estate transactions, sales and acquisitions, financing, and development.
Patricia is an experienced commercial and corporate lawyer and is the lead for the Regina corporate department. She has a broad range of experience handling and advising on corporate governance matters, securities and equity financing, commercial and residential real estate transactions, sales and acquisitions, financing, and development.
Patricia studied pre-law at the Brandon University and received her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Manitoba in 1982. She was called to the Saskatchewan Bar in 1983. She was honoured with the Queen’s Counsel appointment in 2010.
Patricia is currently the Chair of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of directors for Creative Saskatchewan. She is also a former director of the Regina Association of Community Living and a former director and trustee of the board of the National Film Board of Canada and past board member and Vice-Chair of the Regina Airport Authority. She was corporate secretary and legal counsel to the Lieutenant Governor’s Celebration of the Arts Gala in 2005. In February 2011, Patricia was recognized as a Woman of Influence in Saskatchewan for her efforts as a professional. She was appointed by order in council as a public member of the Board of the Saskatchewan Applied Science Technologists and Technicians (SASTT) for a term of three years. Patricia was a presenter at the Women in Leadership: Making an Impact conference held in May 2012 and discussed the need for succession planning for successful women in business. Patricia is a partner in the Regina office and serves on the Firm’s Finance Committee.
Patricia is the only Saskatchewan lawyer with significant experience in entertainment law. She acted for SaskFilm since inception and has been legal counsel on virtually all Saskatchewan film and television productions. With that, she has gained a thorough working knowledge of rights issues and is very familiar with union/guild requirements, including for live music shows.
Patricia was recently selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Canada 2017 in the fields of Entertainment Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Corporate Law for Regina. She has been listed in Best Lawyers® since 2011.
Patricia has also been Repeatedly Recommended in the area of Corporate and Commercial Law in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory.
Patricia has also been recently ranked in Band 2 for General Business Law in Saskatchewan by Chamber Canada in their 2016 directory by being ‘known for her extensive knowledge of corporate and commercial matters, with a focus on agricultural financing and real estate transactions.’
