ANITA G. WANDZURA

Anita Wandzura obtained her Bachelor of Laws (with Great Distinction) and Bachelor of Commerce (with Great Distinction) from the University of Saskatchewan in 2008.  Anita joined the Firm in 2009 after she clerked with the Court of Queen's Bench for Saskatchewan.

While attending the University of Saskatchewan, Anita was a member of the Saskatchewan Law Review Editorial Board and competed in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition.  She was awarded the Durward Thomas Prize in Civil Procedure, a University of Saskatchewan Scholarship, and the Canadian Bar Association (Saskatchewan Branch) Award of Excellence.  In August 2008, Anita was honoured with the Canadian Bar Association's Edward K. Rowan-Legg Award for her contribution to the Association as a student member.

Anita maintains a general practice with a focus on civil litigation, health law, insurance law and real estate law.

Anita has authored articles in the Saskatchewan Law Review, the Ottawa Law Review, and Bar Notes.  Her articles include "Community Treatment Orders in Saskatchewan: What Went Wrong?" (2008) 71(2) Sask.L. Rev. 269; "The Enforcement of Security Interests Against the Personal Property of First Nations Persons on a Reserve" (2007) 39(1) Ottawa L. Rev. 1; and "Capacity of Persons with Mental Disabilities to Testify" (Summer 2006) Vol. XX No. 4 C.B.A. Saskatchewan Branch Bar Notes 12.

Anita is an active member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Saskatoon Bar Association and a condominium board of directors.  She is a member of the Bar Notes Editorial Board, Law Day Planning Committee and Chair of the Young Lawyers' Section (North) of the Canadian Bar Association (Saskatchewan Branch).  Anita also volunteers with Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan and CLASSIC free legal clinic.
