Amy is a litigator with an interest in ownership disputes. She practices primarily in the areas of Elder Law (focusing on contentious issues related to Powers of Attorney and Guardianship) and Estate Litigation. Amy also has an interest in Intellectual Property Law and Entertainment Law.
Amy has worked on several matters involving issues of capacity, undue influence, and improper use of powers of attorney (including financial elder abuse). She has also worked on a variety of estate disputes involving family farmland and mineral titles, resulting and constructive trusts, and executor and administrator disputes. She understands the complex family dynamics involved in these cases, especially with respect to the family farm.
Amy received her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina in 2008 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan in 2013. Amy also studied English and Linguistics at the University of Regina. While attending the University of Saskatchewan College of Law, Amy was awarded the Douglas A. Schmeiser Prize in Criminal Procedure.
Amy articled at McKercher LLP and became an associate in 2014.
When not in the office, Amy enjoys travelling, spending time with her young family, and partaking in the arts, including movies, music, and visual art. Amy is also an avid reader, and enjoys reading almost anything from travel literature and horror fiction to books about quantum physics and behavioural economics.
