Alan G. McIntyre, QC leads successful team in more than $9 million award to woman who had a tragic diving accident that left her paralyzed.
Alan G. McIntyre, QC, led the McKercher LLP legal team which at the time included student at law, Lee D.M. Reid to assist client, Miranda Biletski, in her case against the University of Regina. Miranda dove into the University of Regina’s swimming pool twelve years ago, broke her neck and instantly became a quadriplegic. Alan argued that the university was negligent and that the pool was not safe.
The decision, made by a six-person jury, last week, has awarded more than $9 million to Miranda, to help her future care needs and improve her quality of life.
